Last Day. Last Chance.

For those who celebrate: I hope you had a fine Thanksgiving.
And now it's time for the madness that is BLACK FRIDAY— and the last day of our new IMPOSSIBLE JONES: IMPOSSIBLE TO LOVE! Kickstarter.
In case you hadn't heard, there's one, last Go-Big-or-Go-Home STRETCH GOAL:
6-Page EVEN STEVEN Solo Story by Kesel and Hahn!
Thing is, we need to hit $42,000 to pay for that story. And as I write this we're about $4000 and change short of that.
And we only have until 7 PM PDT TODAY (11-29) to do it.
I know this is a Big Stretch. HUGE, even. Might even say IMPOSSIBLE.
But isn't "Impossible" our middle name?
No. No it isn't. IT'S OUR FIRST NAME! (Of the main character of our comic, at least.)
There was at least one EVEN STEVEN solo story in the previous four IMPOSSIBLE TEAM-UP books. I'd like to continue that tradition. And EVEN STEVEN is a fan favorite. For good reason— he's cool! And weird! And enigmatic!
So here's How We Make This Happen…
UPGRADE or ADD-ON to your Pledge
See where it says "One 'Sketch'"? Ignore that. As hard as it is to believe, there are 3 SKETCHES available! David does far more than a simple "sketch" and everyone who's ever gotten one knows it. You could Upgrade your pledge and grab one of these.
There's also some very nice IMP ORIGINAL ART ready for a new home— cover inks (matching pencils often available— just ask) and David's stunning 41st CENTURY JONES Watercolor. All easy Upgrades.
Been eyeing that terrific TERRY DODSON Alt Cover? Or TY TEMPLETON's IMP-pressive IMP-finity Alt Cover? Thinking how stylish you'd look in an ELSA CHARRETIER IMP T-SHIRT? Don't have all of the IMP ENAMEL PINS? These and many other awesome add-ons are yours for the choosing in the, um, ADD-ON section.
LIKE, SHARE and/or POST
Of course, whether you do any of those things or not, you can always LIKE, SHARE, and/or POST about IMP. Getting the word out— spreading the IMPOSSIBLE GOSPEL— has never been more important than it is today.
I've got a zillion posts you can choose from on FACEBOOK and BLUESKY.
LIKE as many as possible— it's a little thing that makes a big difference. SHARE as many as you can. And if you're really ambitious, create your OWN POST about why you love IMP— just please include the link ImpossibleKickstarter.com.
As LBJ famously said: "If you do everything possible, you will get an EVEN STEVEN Solo Story in the new IMP comic." He didn't use those exact words, but close enough.
Thank you for your patience (if you've backed multiple IMP projects, you'll have gotten this Update multiple times— last time, I promise), thank you for you believing in IMPOSSIBLE, and thank you for supporting this book.
Could not do it without you.
THE FINAL WEEK

THANK YOU for supporting IMPOSSIBLE JONES!
I say that a lot, but YOU really are the most important part of the Kickstarter Equation. Without YOU there is no IMP. And while we're not changing the world, or creating great art that will be studied by scholars, I like to think IMP brightens the day of anyone who reads her stories. And that's a good day's work, you ask me.
IMPOSSIBLE TO LOVE ends on Black Friday— Nov 29, 7 PM PDT. We've currently raised a little over $30,000. This is the lowest amount IMP has ever raised at this point in any Kickstarter.
This is mainly because of the election. Not talking politics here, I'm talking economics. We were doing fine, business-as-usual, until the election hit. And then a lot of people went dark on social media. A LOT. People who usually support IMP and/or spread the word about IMP. They were gone. We've been struggling to find more readers ever since.
"Luckily we already reached our Goal— right?"
Yes. But…
Choosing the initial Kickstarter Goal is as much psychological as it is financial. You want an amount large enough that you can print the book, but small enough to fund quickly. Because funding quickly means your project rises in the almighty algorithms and is shown to more people, and more people support it because people love to back a winner.
I pay David, Ryan and Comicraft as they produce their (wonderful!) work. I have a price quote on what printing will cost, approximately. Take all that out of our $30,000, it leaves very little for… me.
So really what happens in this last week is determining how much we're going to pay KARL. For writing and inking the book, running the Kickstarter, editing and trafficking, pre-press production, dealing with the printers, getting swag produced… even writing updates. This is going to be my paycheck for the next 5 MONTHS.
Needless to say, I'd like it to be a livable wage.
Here's What We're Gonna Do…
David and I are selling a bunch of IMP ORIGINAL ART.
These are prime pieces— COVERS AND SPLASH PAGES. All were inked on blue-line print-outs, meaning the pencils and inks exist as two separate pieces of art. We do not, unfortunately, have matching pairs for every piece of art.
I am offering these to YOU first. Later today I will start rolling them out to the rest of the world. Unless otherwise noted, prices are:
PENCIL ART: $400 each
INK ART: $350 each
PENCIL & INK PAIR: $700
Tom Grummett Wrap-Around Cover, Inks only, $800.
David has the pencils for the IMP-HOLLY cover.
David has the pencils for each of these pages.
David has the pencils for the cover on the RIGHT.
Cover on the left is $400 ('cause of the color logo); The EVEN STEVEN piece is $250 due to size.
If You Are Interested in Any of This Art…
…Please MESSAGE me. If the page is still available, you can add the amount to your pledge, and I will set the art aside for you.
AS AN ADDED INCENTIVE: I will mail out all Original Art as soon as funds clear (Mid-December) at no extra charge. The art may not make it to you by Christmas, but should be there soon after.
If Art Isn't Your thing…
…You can still POST about IMPOSSIBLE JONES, SHARE posts about IMPOSSIBLE JONES, and LIKE every single post you see about IMPOSSIBLE JONES.
It's more important than ever to get IMP in front of as many eyes as possible. And that's something only YOU can do. Even a little thing can make a BIG difference.
Okay. Let's go do the IMPOSSIBLE. Because that's what we do ALL THE TIME around here…

Elsewhere on Kickstarter…

FIRST…
We are touched and thrilled to once again have IMP's newest book chosen as a PROJECT WE LOVE by Kickstarter. Not only is it an honor, but it also gets IMP in front of more eyes and in more search results. All great news!
In other news…
We're still moving towards our 2nd STETCH GOAL!
I love GIAN'S Chibi Stickers, and I deeply appreciate that he finds time to do a few for us each Kickstarter. Really classes up the joint. Who else might get Gian's Chibi-treatment this time around? Well, let's save that for future Stretch Goals! First, we gotta nail this one!
And You Know How We Can Do That, Right?
Right— we need to spread the word about the new IMP comic! We need to share the IMPOSSIBLE GOSPEL! That's how we get more readers. And more readers mean we get to add cool stuff to the book— like SPOT GLOSS, a bonus BACKMATTER section, pin-ups, maybe even a 6-page BACK-UP STORY…
And to get new readers we need to talk up IMP. Well, I'm already doing that as much as I can. What I really mean is YOU have to talk up IMP!
SHARE the IMP posts!
LIKE the IMP posts!
COMMENT on the IMP posts!
The more YOU do, the more we move up (or at least not go down) the almighty algorithm!
ANYTHING you do HELPS. Trust me on this.
And I'm willing to put my money/time where my mouth is. I'm willing to talk up a couple other Kickstarters that are out there right now…
This is JAY MAGNUM's, um… magnum opus. A sprawling, action-packed story with an alien invasion, a rag-tag group of heroes, and a pretty damn cool character named LILA (yup, that's her shown here). It has a sort of 80s/90s superteam feel, which to this child of the 80s/90s is a GOOD thing! Check it out: ASTRAL VENGEANCE!
I have only just discovered the genius that is DEAN HASPIEL, but believe me: I AM A BIG FAN! A comic about a guy transformed into a Kirby-style monster with his face on his chest (hence the name)? Who's trying to make it as a stand-up comedian?YES, PLEASE!
