Not much more to say than that. As I write this, I've already mailed out 471 IMPOSSIBLE TO LOVE packages (including a few I've hand-delivered locally). Close to 50 more are already boxed up in the PANIC ROOM— my state-of-the-art fulfillment center (A.K.A. my basement). My plan is to spend the rest of the week packing, packing, packing, with the next pile of IMP packages at the Post Office on Friday, June 6.
Once I print out your mailing label, you will automatically receive an email with your TRACKING NUMBER. If you have not received that email, most likely your package has not gone out.
I am working my way from large groups all getting the same items, down to individuals who are getting a unique set of items. So if you're getting Original Art, for instance, chances are I haven't reached you yet— but may well do so before this Friday.
I may not have all packages out by Friday, but I should be close.
EVEN STEVEN
At the same time, David and I are gearing up for our next Kickstarter— an EVEN STEVEN oversized, hardcover collection of all previously published ES stories, plus 20-30 pages of new material. And as with all our hardcovers, a signed BOOKPLATE will be available. Here's the working design:
David and my signatures would be in that bottom box, of course. Final design could be completely different, depending on my mercurial mood and whims.

WHAT A WILD RIDE IT'S BEEN!
PREVIOUSLY, in IMPOSSIBLE TO LOVE…
As you may remember from the last Update, the first printing of IMP 2 LOVE was a disaster. Blurry images. Muddy colors. A weird "banding" to the coloring on most pages. Not something I would buy myself, and certainly not anything I would send to you.
COMIC IMPRESSIONS, to their credit, reprinted the entire run. Paid close attention to the printing. Made sure there were no errors. Then shipped it out.
DAVID HAHN got his copies— the Kickstarter Exclusive cover with FOIL ENHANCEMENT that he and I are signing— and said they looked amazing. So much better! I couldn't wait to get the rest of the shipment to see for myself.
But I did wait a little while.
Then a little while longer.
Then I got tired of waiting. I checked the tracking number. It showed that the shipment was stuck in Memphis— DELAYED!
WHAT—?!?!?!?!?!
I had tried to contact this freight company a few years back, and only got an automated menu which finally dumped me in a voice-mail box where I never heard back from anyone. So I reached out to COMIC IMPRESSIONS to see if they had a more direct line to the company, and could find out what was going on.
Which they did in less than one hour.
Somehow, my shipment had been labeled HAZ-MAT(!!!) and was now being shipped by (much slower and, I assume, much more careful) TRAIN! But COMIC IMPRESSIONS, bless their hearts, were able to get that label removed, and back on a truck.
The books finally arrived yesterday, May 19th. I picked them up today.
It is by far the best print job COMIC IMPRESSIONS has ever done for me. I could not be happier.
I'll print out the MASTER MAILING LIST today, start putting packages together tomorrow, will probably mail out the first batch by Friday.
IF YOU HAVEN'T ANSWERED THE SURVEY— NOW WOULD BE A GOOD TIME!
Hard to believe, but 36 Backers— people who have already paid money for IMP 2 LOVE— have not filled out their survey yet.
This is not a questionnaire to find out who your favorite comic character is (we know it's IMPOSSIBLE JONES) but to get your MAILING ADDRESS so I know where to send all your cool stuff! (Also for you to pay postage, a necessary evil of this business.)
I just sent out a reminder to the people who haven't responded to the survey yet. So even if you're sure you filled out your survey— or maybe especially if you're sure you filled out your survey— please look around your mailbox and check your SPAM folder, just to be, y'know, really sure.
There is simply no better comic being produced today— by ANYONE, at any company— than Stephan Franck's PALOMINO. A noir murder mystery set against the backdrop of the LA country music scene in the 80s and 90s, this is a thing of beauty. A master class in character, drama, and storytelling. Unless all you like are talking animals, you need to get this book.
Luckily, PALOMINO Volumes 4 and 5 are on Kickstarter NOW! (As are all previous volumes.)
It's hard to describe RITAOTSG, except it's every bit as amazing as PALOMINO, except with talking mice and a Space God and no country music.
You need both of these books. You really do.

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Fulfillment…

GOOD NEWS!
IMP 2 LOVE is in the House!
And the main cover looks GREAT! Could not be happier!
(The other covers also came out perfectly! I have to say, this is the best, most precise placement of Spot Gloss I've ever seen on an IMP cover!) (I do wish I'd moved the credits up so they lined up with "A PROLOGUE"— but that's my screw-up. No idea what I was thinking there.)
BAD NEWS…
There are problems with the printing on the interior pages. Big problems.
FIRST: Throughout the entire book, there's a weird striation in the printing…
It looks like the book was printed on textured paper, or is being viewed on an old video monitor. Except it doesn't look like that everywhere. One area on a page will have this "banding" while the rest of the page is clear. Some places it's hardly noticeable, other places it's all you can notice. (Well: all I can notice, at least.)
SECOND: Towards the back part of the book, the registration is off and the black plate looks blurry, making the drawings look heavier than they should, and lettering often difficult to read…
(Other pages are worse, but I'm not showing them because: Spoilers.)
These problems were evident in many different copies pulled from many different boxes. None were suitable to send out.
GOOD NEWS!
COMIC IMPRESSIONS is reprinting the entire run of IMP 2 LOVE! I've never had a problem with them before, and they corrected this one very quickly. They are aces in my book.
BAD NEWS…
I'm told it will take about 2 weeks to get the reprinted books in David and my hands. Which means Fulfillment won't start until about May 1st.
Very sorry about this delay, but everyone's working hard to get you your IMP 2 LOVE comic as soon as possible, at the high quality you deserve.
I appreciate your understanding and patience.
IN THE MEANTIME…
David and I are working away on THE MANY ODD ORIGINS OF EVEN STEVEN— an oversized, hardcover book that will collect all the EVEN STEVEN back-up stories, plus about 20 pages of new material. And Pin-Ups of ES by some very cool creators.
Here's a VERY ROUGH thumbnail of what the cover will (kinda) look like:
The idea is EVEN STEVEN is holding a psychic/magical construct of a gun in his hand, but in the insets on either side he's holding constructs of different weapons— spiked brass knuckles, knife, grenade, whatever.
David's drawing this now. I'm sure it'll look MUCH better when he's done with it.
Our plan is to have this Kickstarter up and running as soon as IMP 2 LOVE is fulfilled. So about mid-May.

This was made before the books were bound and trimmed, obviously. And the great news is: all that binding and trimming has already happened! Yes, you heard me right:
THE BOOKS ARE COMPLETELY PRINTED!

THE BOOKS HAVE ALREADY BEEN SHIPPED TO ME!
I should have them in-hand some time next week.
(The FOIL COVER Variant is being shipped directly to David Hahn for him to sign. Once he does, he'll send them straight to me for me to John Hancock, and then I'll start sending them out, too!)
I'm still waiting for the various prints and stickers from my local print geniuses ColorHaus, but they should all be ready by the time the books show up here.
In the meantime, I'll be wrapping the inks on David's sensational SKETCHES…
…then I GET SHIPPIN'! I'm looking to send all packages out between April 11th and 25th.
But to get yours, you need to have filled out your SURVEY. Because that's how I get your mailing address. And as of right now:
